The Dilworth Trust Board has commissioned an Independent Inquiry to provide an understanding of the nature and extent of abuse at Dilworth School, the Schools response to complaints of abuse at the time, including the adequacy of actions taken, and the factors that caused and contributed to the abuse occurring.
The Boards objectives for the Independent Inquiry are to learn from its findings and recommendations so that the Dilworth Trust Board and community understand the full extent of the abuse that has occurred at the School and the associated harm this has caused to Old Boy survivors as well as to ensure and further enhance the care, safety and protection of current and future students attending Dilworth School.
The Inquiry is being undertaken separately to, but will run concurrently with, an independent Dilworth Redress Programme for Old Boy survivors. The Redress Programme is designed to assess individual claims from Old Boy survivors related to sexual or profound physical abuse experienced while students at the school.
